Summary

Description The U.S. Navy Curtiss XSB2C-1 Helldiver prototype (BuNo 1758) during a test flight. The aircraft made its first flight on 18 December 1940 but crashed on 8 February 1941 due to an engine failure during a landing approach. It sustained damage to the fuselage but was repaired. It was destroyed after suffering an inflight wing failure on 21 December 1941.
