DescriptionStonewall Jackson National Shrine.jpg
English: After Jackson was wounded by friendly fire at Chancellorsville on the night of May 2, 1863, he was taken to Guinea Station to recuperate. The intention was to transport him to Richmond as soon as the rail lines were secured.
Jackson's wounded arm had been amputated, but he was recovering well until pneumonia set in. Jackson's wife Anna was able to get here and was with him when he died on May 10, 1863.
